Developing Breathing Apparatus in the Field
Mike was part of ‘Operation Fresco’, a situation where the military took the place of the Fire Brigade when they opted to strike back in 2002. Mike’s role was in the breathing apparatus rescue team (BART) as well as a member of an attending team to road traffic collisions. He pursued his interest in breathing apparatus and went on to run a multi-million-pound prison service contract in England, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, where he trained prison staff on CSRE (Cell Snatch and Rescue) techniques.
