I’ve just got back from the trip of a lifetime around Australia and wanted to share a bit about something that became one of my travel must-haves, the Pure Clear Active filtered water bottle. I’m not someone who usually gets excited about bottles, but this one made such a difference that it deserves a mention.
Where Did You Take Your Pure Clear Bottle?
I used it every single day while travelling through Sydney, Brisbane, Byron Bay, the Gold Coast and even deep into the Daintree Rainforest. My days were packed with exploring, hiking and moving between places, so having something reliable to drink from was essential. I filled up from all sorts of taps and even from outdoor water sources like lakes and streams on hikes. The tap water in Australia is generally safe, but it was nice to know I could filter it properly if I wasn’t sure. It gave me peace of mind and saved me from constantly buying bottled water, which was a big plus for me.
What Was Your First Impression?
The first thing I noticed was how light it was. When you’re carrying a backpack all day, that really matters. It still feels sturdy though, not flimsy like some bottles I’ve had before. I used to take my Waterdrop bottle everywhere, which keeps drinks cold but is much heavier and doesn’t filter water, so this was definitely a better fit for travelling.
How Did It Fit Into Your Routine?
The lid design stood out straight away. It covers the mouthpiece completely, which sounds like a small thing but makes a big difference. When you’re hiking, taking photos or putting the bottle down on the ground, you don’t have to worry about dirt getting near where you drink from. The button that flips the lid open is also really handy, especially when you’re mid-hike and just want a quick drink.
I’ll admit that remembering to change the filter takes a bit of effort, even though there’s a ring on the bottle to help you track it. It’s not difficult, but it’s one of those things you have to get into the habit of doing.
Anything You’d Change?
The only thing I found a little tricky was cleaning the inside of the straw properly after long trips. It’s fine with a proper bottle brush, but it’s one of those small jobs that takes a bit of patience. Other than that, I honestly can’t fault how it performed. It didn’t leak, and the filter really did make every refill taste clean and fresh, even when I filled from less-than-glamorous places.
Would You Recommend It?
I would definitely recommend it. I’ve already packed it for my next trip to Salou in Spain because I know how handy it’ll be. It’s lightweight, easy to carry and gives me peace of mind when I’m travelling. If you’re someone who’s always on the go or loves being outdoors, I’d say it’s worth having.
